Today, after adjusting the template slightly, I did second round of bowl extrusion.
Today, for the first time since last September I actually worked with some clay. I used the new 3x7 inch bowl template that I designed last week and made over the weekend to extrude four bowls. Three were deep and one I cut quite shallow. I made changes after taking this photo, but they remain pretty much the same.
This is the template design.
This week marks the end of the rehabilitation exercise program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and some reduction in the time being spent going to the Institute for the exercise and various tests and workshops.
Using the stress test done last week the Institute physiotherapists helped me design the next step in my rehabilitation that will get me back working with clay.
Next week i will start strengthening my upper body and get myself back into shape for carrying and wedging clay.
After attending the Guild meeting earlier this week and got to thinking about Great Bowls of Fire and the idea of making bowls. I got into the studio long enough to design a template for making bowls and hope to follow up with making the template soon.
Yesterday I changed the DNS settings for OttawaPottery.com and ArtPetch.com to point to this new website.
I have stopped using the computer in my house to publish the old OttawaPottery.com website and have used, instead, the Weebly authoring site. The objective of all this is to avoid spending so much time and energy on publishing a site that focused on other peoples work and events that I had more to focus on my creative work.
The first step, while convalescing from my heart attack, has been to create this new website that documents my own ceramic art, and in doing so, direct my energy away from web publishing to studio work.
The next step is to finish the rehabilitation program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, start a program of re-building my upper body strength and get back to working in my studio with renewed enthusiasm and increased focus.
